Saltaire arts trail

So rather than sit inside on a miserable bank holiday Monday me Hayley and Mandy headed up to Saltaire for the open house art trail. The visit has inspired us all to do more surface designs and experiment more! here are a few photo's from today :)

Paris, designs and the big move.

I'm rubbish at posting these days! I haven't posted in over a month now whoops.

So in the past month I turned 23 (old now) and celebrated with a trip to Paris which was amazing and surreal more than anything. It was an adventure rather than a relaxing city break, we spent a lot of time wandering around on the metro visiting as much as possible in the four days we had there.Paris is very spread out so requires a lot of hopping on and off the metro which sometimes was fun and sometimes rather tedious but I think that and how expensive things are may be the only downside of Paris.

We visited the Louvre which was amazing! I think me and Sam where more impressed with the building more than anything else, we also went half way up the Eiffel tower thanks to Sam's fear of heights :P but I didn't mind as It was still a great experience. We also visited the catacombs which were very eerie, It blew my mind slightly how many people were buried there! I think my favourite place we visited was Montmartre with it's incredible view of the whole city.

This month I had a creative streak and managed to create a few more prints to sell on my Etsy shop - They were very quickly made and quite simple really but at least I have a few more designs to add to my surface design portfolio.

Coming up..

I am rather excited for the coming months as me and Sam are planning to move in together and find a cosy little flat / house to call are own :) I can't wait to be able to buy lots of new things and decorate to our tastes and have the freedom to live how we want and not be told off for leaving things in the wrong place :P ahem.

On Tuesday I found out my job has been extended until the end of October so that gives me more time to find something permanent hooray!

Picnic party

It's been ages since my last post, a month already! April has been a good month - lots of things have gone on but I am very much looking forward to May and my birthday adventures to Paris :)Rather enjoying all these bank holidays at the moment although this 3 day work week coming up seems pointless and a bit of a chore :(

The weather this month has been beautiful so we enjoyed the first BBQ of the year a couple of weeks ago and spent the whole day sat in our concrete yard drinking and eating fun fun!

Claire turned 24 and celebrated with a trip to Wagamama's and a night in Corp which was a bit of a let down but still fun none the less.

This bank holiday weekend me and Sam stayed at my mum and dad's and spent the last three days drinking and eating  - pretty much lazied around the whole time which was nice. We headed up the chase with Sez and James on Saturday with a picnic and lots of beer which was fun but ended in me throwing up in the sink as I drank too much and ate too little.

Today we headed to the park for another picnic but as soon as we arrived the sun went in boo :(

Tonight I finally finished my application for Olympic tickets for one of the diving events so fingers crossed we will be heading to the Olympics in London next year!

Peaking around

I had a rather lovely jam-packed weekend!

On Sunday me, Sam, Lis & Raoul headed up a few mountains in the peaks I enjoyed the sitting around and taking in the epic view - it's so peaceful and serene that high up. But I didn't enjoy the uphill climbs that were involved to get there :( Although, it did make me realise how incredibly unfit I've become which worried me a little! so as of Monday I've started to walk the 2 mile's home from work and feel so much better for it! I hope I can keep it up though. Sunday was rounded off with lots of wine in the pub and a trip to the graveyard at night which was rather creeeepy!

We decided to go to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Monday (yey for 3 day weekends) defiantly choose the best day for it weather wise as it felt like a summers day!We had a fun day roaming around the park taking silly pictures and soaking up the sunshine.

Uni bar & relaxing times

The last two weeks have yet again flown by! Jesus, a little bit scary really. I won't complain as it's pay day in a week :) I feel like my budget has gone out of the window this month so next month i need to be really tight ..as tight as Sam is when it comes to spending ;)

Last weekend I was back in Stafford - It didn't start amazingly well after finding out my Grandma was in hospital, but apart from that it was lovely. Me and the parental's spent most of Saturday in the pub drinking and eating which was fun -It was nice 'catching up' and just spending some time with them. Me, Sez and Lis headed out to the uni bar on the night which was fun and made a change from the usual pubs in town. Although we  found it to be not as good as it used to be and we felt really old surrounded by 18 year olds - but hey ho.

This weekend has been a relaxing one - nothing vaguely interesting has happened. We are going to head out for lunch at La Tasca (nom) and then probably bum around some more! I'm quite looking forward to next weekend though as Lis is up visiting and I have a three day weekend eeee fun times!

On another note we have decided unless the line up is amazing we may give Leeds a miss as we just can't find  enough people to join us and I think It just wouldn't be the same just the two of us going even though am sure we would have a laugh.

Brighton Beach and delicious treats

I feel like I am neglecting this blog a little at the moment ! But I can never be bothered to sit and write in it after work as too much effort is involved.I think from now on I'm going to post an entry every Sunday and just ramble on about the past weeks happenings.

This week has been pretty eventful compared to some - It's been a really enjoyable one. I feel like I've settled in at work finally and feel comfortable with everyone I work with now so it's not so much of a chore any more - I feel like I don't need to make as much effort which is always good!

On Tuesday it was Amy's birthday so we celebrated with a home cooked roast and a few drinks at the local which was nice. On Thursday Sam had booked a day off work so he met me for lunch in town which made the day more bearable. In the eve me and Sam headed to a mini festival at the Harley to see Chickenhawk but to Sam's disappointment they pulled out last minuet due to illness so we just left. Yesterday was Amy's birthday tea party which involved  a buffet of delicious treats and about 5 bottles of wine were consumed before we headed out to Brighton beach at the academy.

I am looking forward to next weekend already and it's only Sunday evening! I will be heading back home which I haven't done so for a month! although it doesn't feel that long as it's flown by again. I'll get to see the best friends, family and enjoy some home cooked food.

Also I've decided that I want to go to leeds festival this year - so I need to save the pennies for that and Paris which hasn't gone well so far but oh well.
